Zane's Free-Stravaganza!

Postby Zane » Tue Jul 05, 2011 1:54 pm

Like some other leaving JETs this summer, I am tasked with getting rid of virtually everything I own before being depor . . . I mean, leaving Japan of my own free will. In order to help me do so with minimal waste, I am offering much of what I own for free. This first post will focus on the movies and books (all free) I've collected and inherited through the years, and as I have more time I'll update this thread with pictures of other things I'm getting rid of. Please take my stuff. If not for me, then for the environment. Surely you don't hate the Earth . . . OR DO YOU?!

All of the books and movies have been spoken for. Thank you.

UPDATE 7/20
- Ceramic nabe pot and the portable burner (with extra gas) to go with it. Perfect for winter nabe parties.
- Brita water filter. Large size, you just need to get a new filter for it.
- Digital bathroom scale.
- Metal shelf. It works indoors or out, and it has HEARTS on it.
- Comfy red chair.
- Navajo turquoise necklace
- 40kg worth of weights (2 weight sets).
- Sony Viao computer speakers.
- BBQ
- Christmas tree and decorations.
- Iron
- Wrapping paper
- Makeshift tool box.

Pictures can be found here.

UPDATED
I have added a few items I'm looking to get rid of. They include:

Baker's rack
Analog flat-screen TV
Region-free DVD Player
DVD/VCR Combo
Small kotatsu
Kerosene Heater
Electric Heater
Metal Shelving Unit

Please check out photos of the above items here. Let me know if you want any of it. It's all free, but if you require delivery, I may ask for some sort of fuel surcharge, but we can negotiate. Thanks.

Dude, you own Gone With the Wind? Really? Did somebody force the DVD on you at gun point? I wouldn't swap a two-month old potato peel for that.

I am both repulsed and nauseated by the fact that you've taken issue with my owning Gone With the Wind, and have, it can be assumed, given tacit approval to all of the other titles on that list. A list which includes, might I say, Rush Hour 3 and Dirty Dancing. Your Swayze-fever is showing, Borba.

Also, a two-month old potato peel is worth far more than I am asking.

I know who you are. That bananadance had Nicole Gallagher written all over it. The movies and books are yours.

P.S.
I'll send you a photo and dimensions of those drawers we spoke about earlier. Probably tomorrow.

I'll take Genki Book 2. I'll need that to brush up on my Japanese once I get home.

Nah, but I'll take it. My JTE wants to show kids what kind of textbooks people learning Japanese use. But if someone else wants it to actually use it for learning, then they can have it.

I'm somewhat of a (pretty big) book nerd. If available, I'll take....

Unfinished Tales by JRR Tolkien
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
Black Rain by Ibuse
The Bone People by Keri Hulme
World Fairy Tales (In Japanese) YES YES YES!
Acacia by David Anthony Durham

However, if no one else wants the rest and you find yourself about to throw them out, DONT! I'll take those too.
