JET Programme ALT Skills Development Conference (ＪＥＴプログラム外国語指導助手指導力等向上研修）
…formerly known as the Mid-Year Conference (中間期研修会)
Hosted by the Kumamoto Prefectural Board of Education, the Kumamoto City Board of Education, and the Kumamoto Prefecture Tourism and International Policy Division, the purpose of the SDC is to bring ALTs and JTEs together to share their experiences in working on the JET Programme, to discuss team-teaching and other related matters, to find ways to enhance foreign language education, and to further develop the JET Programme in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Kumamoto SDC is finally back in-person this year! We hope you are as excited as we are to finally be able to actively interact and engage with all of the amazing and beneficial workshops and other English teachers throughout Kumamoto Prefecture. This year, to reduce paper waste, we have made the SDC handbook digital and will not be providing paper copies at the venue, so if you prefer to have a paper copy, please print it in advance and bring it with you. Furthermore, each workshop’s materials will be available via QR codes within the handbook. We recommend that you bring a device with you to access all of the necessary materials, but note that there will not be Wi-Fi offered by the venue.
